My Preparation for Cloudera Ceritification of Hadoop CCD-410
I have passed the Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop on 03-Nov-2015.
What to Study:
1) Syllabus details are present in Cloudera site. Please note that every line and word is important.
2) In Addition I got some questions on the CDH versions also So it is good to have Idea on CDH versions.
3) Brush up your Java knowledge on generics and collections. This is very much needed to understand the practical program questions.
Where Do I find material:
1) First and foremost study every word and sentence in "Hadoop : The Definitive Guide" by Tom White.
Every sentence can be a question.
For Developer exam: Study 1 to 8 Chapters( in 3rd Edition) and Chapter on Sqoop ( Hive also recommended).
2) Try many versions of some simple programs like WordCount , Temperature and Invered Index in MR.
This practice is very important because there will be many practical program questions which will decide your score.
3) Read Apache document on web on Hadoop architechture , High availability, Federation , Hadoop Streaming and Yarn.
There is a high chance to get a direct question from those lines.
4) Do few practice tests available in the net and dont rely on the answers check for correct answer by yourself.
Check "Definitive Guide" or Apache website or Stackoverflow for correct answers.
These practise tests are useful to know the area of questions but not like the questions and answers.
5) Please note that cloudera will give significant amount of practical questions and remember you need to get 70% to pass and majority of this portion is on practical questions.
Exam time Process:
1) Login to examlocal 10 min before with an ID proof because they take some time for information gathering process.2) The proctor will be available during all time of your exam. So you can get assistance at anytime.
3) They are very professional I liked it.
